Every December for the past three years I have, quite literally, barred access to my kitchen for the better part of two weeks in the name of cake pops.

Nothing quite takes up kitchen time and space like cake popping, except for, of course, cake decorating. My husband sighs audibly with every pass as he struggles to prep dinners on a 12″x12″ pocket of counter space in those moments when I’m ‘in the zone’.

Well, if it’s so inconvenient, why bother, you ask?

Well, I come by this need to bake and decorate naturally, once trying my hand at running my own from-home cake business. While I let the the business side fade gently into that good night, I do still make my share of cakes throughout the year for my (four) kids and Laura’s (three) with the odd special occasion thrown in.

In simple math: many cakes = many cake leftovers in the freezer = silent mutterings from my husband every time he opens the freezer door and cake or icing falls out = CAKE POPS! The math is clear.

And so, I feel it is my duty to provide the masses with my whimsical, fun Christmas creations every December, in the name of saving my marriage. These cake pops are entirely handcrafted by me in a pet-free, smoke-free home. I take great care in the handling of this product, from beginning to end. I choose my ingredients carefully but do shop in bulk so I do not claim to be gluten- or peanut-free.
